Security Consultant Vic Andrews lives by his Man Laws
Never mess with your best friend's sister
Never get caught
Never get attached
But he can't deny his irresistible attraction to Gina Delgado, a young widow with three kids and plenty of strings attached. Even so, having a physical relationship doesn't mean they're "in a relationship."
Gina lost her husband to tragedy; she is not getting emotionally involved with another man in a dangerous profession. Sleeping with Vic is just stress relief.
Until one of Vic's assignments goes wrong and the target selects Gina and her kids for revenge. There's nothing Vic won't do to protect Gina and the children—the family he realizes, too late, he wants. He'll accomplish his mission but will he have lost his only chance at true love?

Gina Delgado is a firefighter's young widow who tries very hard to cope with all aspects of her husband's death. She's working in the accounting department of her brother's security firm and at the same time she tries to maintain a balanced environment for her three children. She has a very close relationship to her brother who has taken up the role of the "male presence" in the household. So far so good until Gina realizes that she wants more than being "friends with certain benefits" with Vic Andrews who is her brother's partner and permanently around her, either in the office or at the Delgado family events. There are only following problems: Vic doesn't want to settle down, Gina doesn't want to fall in love again with a man who has a dangerous job and Gina's brother keeps on interfering with everything and everybody. However, when a terrorist targets Gina and her children Vic protects them at any cost and discovers that Gina and her children could give him something he was always looking for.Gina was a really likeable heroine who was portrayed very realistically. She matured throughout the story line from a still grieving widow to an energetic young woman who knew what she wanted from life and tried very hard to obtain it, but never at the expense of her children's best interest.
Vic was presented as a less realistic character but his "man laws" made him very believable. His attitude was all "alpha male" but when it came to Gina and her kids he became a real softie. Very nicely done.
The story line was simple, I could even argue simplistic and predictable, which didn't really but me off since the strength of the book was the character development and not the plot. Gina's balancing acts between widow, mother, lover, sister and working mother were more than realistic and very accurately. Who couldn't relate to a certain degree?!
The "man laws" used as headers for the chapters were great and made me more than once laugh out loud. The same goes for the banters between Vic and Gina.
This was a nice and entertaining read that will offer you many carefree hours of reading pleasure.

Man Law Private Protectors edition by Adrienne Giordano Romance eBooks Reviews
I have read all the books in this series, but this is probably my favorite. I really enjoyed the "man laws" and actually even went back and re-read it and liked it even more the second time.
I really enjoyed the thrills, intrigue, mystery, and of course romance of this book. what a great read and it sure kept my interest from start to finish. highly recommend.
The story line and characters are quite believe. However, it has taken me forever to read this book. It is not one I would recommend. It needed to be faster paced.
Great story line. Lots of action. Couple of missed spelling of words but all in all following went great. Ready for the next story.
Wow! I loved this book. Vic is my perfect alpha hero, strong, damaged, and entertaining! I found the male point of view and dialogue realistic and, well, perfect. The author drew me into this story to the point I stayed up way too late reading it and didn't shower until a half hour before my husband came home from work today! This is a fast-paced, emotional yet fun read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
I will disclose first off that the author, Adrienne Giordano, is a friend of mine. That being said, if I didn't have something good to say about this book I wouldn't say it all - my Daddy raised me right.
This book is the debut of a series (thank God!) and it starts it off with a bang. The strength of this book is the voice of each character and the total immersion in their psyche. Vic is a "guy's guy" with a potty mouth, a swagger he can back up in any fight, and a libido that is only eclipsed by his ability to deliver in the bedroom . . . or the beach . . . or the kitchen counter . . . you get the picture. He needs a woman who can stand up to him and meet him nose-to-nose.
Gina is that woman. She is a widow with three kids who is slowly awakening from her grief-imposed slumber to figure who she is and whether her new life includes Vic. She gives it as good as she gets it and you'll admire her attitude and tenacity.
A funny, diverse and well-rounded cast of characters fills out this stellar story with a plot of terrorists and risking it all for those you love.
Above all - Adrienne's voice and ability to rip off snappy, smart dialogue with seemingly no effort made this a book I couldn't put down.
This book has wonderful characters. They are strong, loyal, and have depth. I absolutely love the way the differences between men and women are shown. The story is great with lots of suspense, a bit of humor here and there, and romance. I don't like it when a main character dies in any of my books though. But this book is an enjoyable read and does have a HEA ending. (I have read the book twice and will read it more through the years.)
