She had worked her entire life to become gymnastics next Olympic champion. In the blink of an eye, had she lost everything?

What if you wake up hung-over the following morning, not dead, but realizing that you had killed somebody? Even worse, what if you wake up in the morning realizing you destroyed the things you loved most in your life? When she regained consciousness in the hospital scared and alone, Kate realized the nightmare was a reality. Her parents were dead-her soul-mate was in prison-her life would never be the same.

Through the eyes of many, Troy Trindle had it all. He was good-looking, popular, captain of the football team and dating the head cheerleader. What he lacked were the basic necessities; food, shelter and a family.

Kate and Troy's worlds collide when she moves to Alabama to resume training for a spot on the Olympic Gymnastics Team.

One Fateful Night is a must read for gymnast enthusiasts! In this young adult novel, Kate Kennedy was a rising Olympic hopeful when tragedy struck. She moved to Alabama to escape the world and focus on gymnastics. She never imagined she would gain such loyal friends, a love interest and even a family.

One Fateful Night eBook Wendi Finn

Kate was a former Olympic gymnastics hopeful until tragedy struck her family, she has now moved to Alabama to repair her life. Moving to Alabama she is hoping that she can escape the torture of the tragedy and concentrate on her gymnastics again, and maybe claim a spot on the Olympic Gymnastics Team. She finds the transition easier than she expected, and makes friends easily.

She feels that she is being watched during her work out sessions in the school gym that she is working out in, by who she doesn't know. Troy Trindle the school's football team captain tries to stay out of her way, but how long can he keep this up? It is too hard to predict just when she is going to come in to practice. It isn't his fault that he has to sleep in the gym, what will Kate do if she finds out?

One fateful Night by Wendi Finn is an amazing tale of tragedy and romance. I found Kate's journey from her home town and heartbreak to Alabama and a better life refreshing. It is something that we all want to do when confronted with a tragedy such as this. Kate's sympathy for Troy, a person she doesn't know, shows that she can't stand to see someone hurting or have less than her.

The characters are very well written, and pull you into the book with them, making feel like you are in the room or on the bleachers at the game with them. The plot was well thought out and flowed very well. I found myself tearing up in certain spots when Kate was very sad, I was sad. Being from Alabama myself I was able to relate to some of the places in the book that the author mentioned, and they made me think of home. I loved reading this book and will be happy to read any other books that Wendi Finn writes. I will be suggesting it to my friends and readers. I look forward to many more books in this series.

One Fateful Night eBook Wendi Finn Reviews

I really enjoyed reading this book. You become connected with the characters quickly and are so eager to see them experience good in their lives. I liked that I didnt know right off the bat what troubles they had experienced but LOVED seeing them find success.
I also enjoyed reading about young kids pushing themselves to become their best. They sacrificed a lot and pushed their limit but training intensly and giving their all. I cant wait for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens!
This was a book that was an easy relaing read. It gave me something too look forward to each night, to drift off into a fun, engaging book!
I really wanted to like this book. I love both gymnastics and football. So this book was a combination of two of my favorite sports. But this book really could have benefited from a professional editor. Silly things like 'gate' instead of 'gait' or 'mock' instead of 'mach' or 'gluten' instead of 'glutton' riddled the text and pulled me out of the story.

And it was hard to believe that so many adults would be okay with the living situation put forth within the book, especially the so-called social worker "Wanda" who conveniently never showed up.

And the plot was very weak. A cute little gymnast has a bunch of football players fawning over her after a terrible tragedy. And they have to constantly prove that they are really her friends or she runs away or tries suicidal gymnastics without the benefit of a certified coach/trainer.

While the main characters were successful, they grew very little throughout the book. And yet, I spent so much time reading about the teen angst of the characters that I hope the author writes a sequel so that I can find out what happens when Kate has to choose between Troy and Colton at Alabama.
The characters are in high school. This story line would have have been more believable if the setting was college students. The 17 year old main character lives on her own in an apartment. Aside from the sexual promiscuity, there's underage drinking with full knowledge of the football coach with no repercussion or punishment of the football team. I am not sure what age audience would enjoy One Fateful Night. I wouldn't want my teenage daughter reading it. As a parent of teens I didn't enjoy it. This is a poorly written novel. I guess anyone with a computer can be a published author.
I would like to preface this review by stating that I am not an avid reader, but One Fateful Night made me want to be one! I loved this book! The author, Wendi Finn, writes with such description that you know the characters personally, feel the relationships being formed and see every location described in this book.

The story, in short, without giving away too many details is about a girl named Kate whom is working with such determination to become an olympic gymnast when a horrible tragedy enters into her life. Although she experiences this horrific tragedy, the story is so uplifting. You will read about how she is so determined to reach her goals and forms unbreakable friendships with people that help her deal with her demons, yet she helps them become stronger people as well. One Fateful Night, has a great balance of athleticism and romance all combine into one , which makes it a great read for all types.

I am really looking forward to a sequel of One Fateful Night! How will Kate's life continue to grow personally and professionally? Will she make it to the olympics that she has worked so hard to achieve? Who will she end up with, her soul mate that helped cause the tragedy, her now boyfriend who helps her get through the day or someone new?

One Fateful Night is a must read!
A modern take on the southern belle with a much appreciated sporting edge, this appealing high school romance and inspirational tale of overcoming trials and tribulation to fulfill one's dream weaves football and gymnastics while managing to communicate a strong social comment in a good action plot. And it is instructive as well. Whether it is about educating the reader on the intricacies and challenges of high-level gymnastics or helping make clear, in a non-detached tone, what is the line between cheerleader and gymnast, there is something for everyone. And for those who want to learn all about the proper protocols for platonic Alabama co-ed couch surfing that eventually leads to much more, this is the novel.
